Special Invitation: Ivy Circle Events in June

The Yale Club of the Netherlands has received a special invitation to two interesting upcoming Ivy Circle events, which we encourage you all to attend:

The Ivy Circle is offering discounted tickets to the Dutch premier of La Création du Monde, a new piece based on the short ballet of the same title, scored by Darius Milhaud and written by Blaise Cendrars, which was performed in Paris in 1922 and 1923.  The original piece was presented as a ‘negro-cubist fantasy’ and recounts the creation of the world according to African mythologies.  The Ivy Circle is pleased to offer discounted tickets at €25 (normally €40) as well as the chance to have drinks and meet the artists afterwards.  For more details, check out the Ivy Circle event here.

The outdoor concert on Saturday, 16 June entitled “Olympique” (music, architecture and painting were an official part of modern Olympic competition until the 1952 Helsinki games) will features gymnasts Yuri van Gelder and Jeffrey Wammes swinging with the Residentie Orkest.  For more information, check out the festival program here.
