To celebrate this we are organizing a dinner on December 11th, in Amsterdam.   Time, location, and exact cost are yet to be determined, but please let us know whether you (and your spouse?) would like to join us by sending your name(s) to

You’re invited to Except’s Grid Night, Friday July 29th

Dear ”Yale Club of The Netherlands”,

On behalf of Tom Bosschaert (MArch ’08) and Eva Gladek (MEM ’09) you are invited to Except’s first Grid Night on Friday, July 29th, a social event for those interested in innovative sustainable development. The theme of the first Grid Night is Going Asian.
___________________________________

Do drinks, music, snacks, and meeting ambitious people who are driving innovation sound good to you?

That’s what this is about: Except’s Grid Night, a new series of social events that we’ll be hosting every few months. We cordially invite you to be part of this mash-up of intelligence and fun.

The Grid Night will bring together people with a broad cross-section of interests, professions, and ages who are focused around innovative sustainable development. We’re inviting our network of associates, friends, and partners – and we hope you’ll come and meet everyone.

No speeches or lectures, but we will be doing something other than socializing as well on July 29th… but you’ll have to be here to find out what, exactly.

This time the Grid Night goes Asian, inspired by Except’s recent exploration of Asian markets for expansion.

The party will take place at our office at Stadhuisplein 15 in Rotterdam. It starts at 21 hours and will end when the last guest has left the building. Except will provide snacks, drinks, tunes, and a mini-program.

Please let us know if you can join us. For questions please contact Natasja Jonckheere (natasja@except.nl).

Hope to see you all on the 29th!

With kind regards,

The inspiration for the piece comes from an Eastern European folk music form of shared lament (the doina) which connects individual singers to each other as they express their own stories but unite as one voice/choir.
